It has been many months since Dora and the Yellow Moon Menagerie left Annod Bol. Everything seems peaceful. As peaceful as the Dreadlands can be, that is. However, it is not to last, as two mysterious travelers cross her path, and kick off a series of events that leave the Menagerie in ruins, her friends, boss, and potential father captured by unknown forces, and herself joining the two travelers in a quest to retrieve a kidnapped child, whose promised return is all that is keeping a war between the two superpowers of the Second Elfish Domain and the Celestial Empire of Qwan from breaking out. To save her family, and to help her new friends, Dora must travel into the sweltering desert of Saluda to save a city from being overrun by a plague of Undead. But besides from being pursued by a strange creature with an unknown purpose, but Dora must survive court politics and multiple plots all hinging on her very existence. Is it really to much to ask for just a normal life?
